How can I regain access to my Jira instance after encountering an 'ERROR: 1GJ8ERK' message?

Deleted user September 23, 2024

I'm using a free Jira instance on the Atlassian Cloud at the URL . Today, when I tried to log in, I received an error message that says, 'An error occurred: ERROR: 1GJ8ERK.' I've tried refreshing the page and clearing my browser cache, but the issue persists across different browsers and devices. Has anyone encountered this error before? How can I resolve it and regain access to my Jira instance?

Hi @[deleted]

I took a closer look at that site, it appears that Jira has been deactivated on that site.  You will need to reach out to your site-admin.  That site admin would need to the reactivate Jira on that site.   If they cannot do this directly, then that site-admin would need to go to https://support.atlassian.com/contact and select the option for My Account > Reactivate Subscription.

The site-admin of your site has the initials J A

Please let me know if that is insufficient to locate that site-admin on your site.

@[deleted] ,

Usually this is due to an issue with the instance itself and the error code would tell the engineers what they need to look at.

Since you are on Free you cannot open a call directly with Atlassian but I'll see if we can pull an engineer in to your question here.

Welcome to the community @[deleted]

I've deleted your URL for the privacy reasons as this is open to the public. From the Atlassian status page, there were no active incidents today. Are you using Jira data center or cloud? Also, are you the only one who has been affected with this issue or there are more users affected?
