How can I connect Monday.com to JIRA?

A colleague told me that there was a way to connect my Monday account to JIRA so that if someone creates a ticket for me in Monday, it will create one in JIRA. 

On Monday's side I see an integration article, but I don't want to log there to see work, I want to continue using JIRA as my base of operations.

If you're still looking for a solution, we've launched an app in the Atlassian Marketplace, that was developed, and tested with the Monday team. 

Thanks to that app, you're able to integrate Jira projects with the Monday.com boards, 1-way or 2-way, with attachments, comments, custom fields, statuses, and so on :)

I did not find this before. This so far is a great set of instructions, but it only links to a board, not to an account or the "Your Work" page. 

Is there no way to skip the project board?
