How can I change bug status by sending email to email handler

Hi there, 

I saw JIRA has a feature to create a new JIRA ticket by sending a email to the email handler of the specific project.  And I want to know if there's way to also change the bug status by sending email in the same way.

You will need to find or write an email handler that can do this, there's nothing off-the-shelf.

I tend to reach for JEMH when there's needs like this, to avoid having to write my own code.
