How are the issues counted when using the pie chart in reports?

Specifically, when selecting "assignee" as the statistic type.  I am curious if it counts an issue for anytime that the issue was assigned to an individual or if it is a count by where the issue is assigned currently.

I am trying to determine how many tickets have been worked on by individuals to determine if bringing in additional resources made a difference in production and relieving original workers.

Hi @Lindsay Cloudy and welcome to the Community!

Most Jira gadgets display the information from issues as it is right now, in real time. The pie chart, when sliced by assignee, will show you the issues as they are currently assigned (assume currently is the moment you open the dashboard or refresh the gadget).

Hope this helps!
