Horrizontal line breaks when using text editor

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
When you edit a rich-text box with a horizontal line (----), it breaks if you edit using the text editor.
To reproduce this, create a horizontal line with ----, and then create a list beneath it. Afterward, edit the text again using the text editor. A line-break is removed, and it ruins the list and the line formatting.
I'm using Jira v8.2.4
