Hi,

I can see "normal" comments and comments, that are restricted to developers.

Sometimes, i.e. when I share my Browser-Tab in an online-meeting, I need to hide the developer-restricted-comments

How can I do this?

Hello @Frank Leverenz

There is no native function in Jira for that, to show some comments (normal) but not others (restricted).

If you don't need to show the comments at all, then you could click on the History or Worklog tabs in the Activity section. Neither of those show the Comments.

Alternately ask for an identity that you can use to login that does not have access to the developer restricted comments. Or have another person in the screen sharing session share their view instead.

You could reach out to Atlassian support directly to find out if there is already a product suggestion for that.

Since there's still no solution in 2024, I created a browser extension (for Chrome and Firefox), which adds a button to the activity feed of every issue page in the Jira cloud to let you toggle the visibility of restricted comments.

You can find the source and the links to the extension stores on Github: https://github.com/eyecatchup/toggle-restricted-jira-comments?tab=readme-ov-file#installation
