Hide or Read-only "Estimate" (Story Points) field on backlog Issue Detail View

Hi,

On the backlog view, when I click on a ticket, I have the detail view of the Story that appears on the right.

On the top, I see the Story title (Summary), and below it is the Estimate field, which corresponds to the Story Points.

If I open the Story on its own page, this field doesnt show up.

I have the old view. I use Jira Cloud.

I would like to hide this field, or prevent it from being edited (as it will done via automation) but not sure how to do it.

I tried to go to Jira Settings > Issues > Screens > Click on configure to the right screen > remove the Story Points. But nothing changed.

Hi there, try the Issue layout in the Project.  Go to Project settings > Issue layout > Edit layout and you should be able to drag the Story Points field to the Hidden fields section.

thanks for your answer. unfortunately, this solution would only work when using the new issue view. the old one doesnt seem to take into account these settings..
