Hi everyone,

We’re having trouble with the Goals in Jira. It’s properly added to the screen configuration, including the Create Issue screen, but for some reason, it does not appear when creating a new issue.

Once an issue is created, the Goals field works fine—it’s visible, editable, and functions as expected. However, we can’t set Goals during issue creation.

Should the Goals field be available on the Create Issue screen by design, or is it expected to only be set after issue creation?

If it should be available, what could be preventing it from showing up, and how can we fix it?

Hello @Igor Malinovsky ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian community :)

Jira doesn't currently support adding goals when creating an issue. As you may be aware, we can link goals to issues after the issue has been created on the list view, Plans or issue view.

Thank you!

Hi @Igor Malinovsky

Welcome to the community,

You might have either left Goals unchecked, or you've hidden this field on the issue create screen. Check the user preference for this field under Show fields on issue create screen.

Find your field says that everything is fine in the config, but the field isn't listed in Configure fields. Or did I misunderstand, and Show fields is something different?image.pngimage.png
