Getting Error with Traffic Lights for Jira plugin custom field when import with ProjectConfigurator

Shirley He December 24, 2018

Hello,

When importing a project with project configurator, we get the following errors

It seems there is a problem with the Traffic Lights for Jira plugin by Service Rocket. We've tried changing the values but that doesn't fix anything. It seems the error is with parent "???," however we don't know where to find that and change it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Shirley He,

Does you have the plugin configured in the new instance as well?

"

Green' for the import but it does not exist in the current JIRA instance

shows there is no required plugins in the new instance.

Shirley He December 24, 2018

No, we didn't configure anything in the new instance. Any configuration that exists was created during project import. We are trying to change configurations now, but cannot find "parent"

By the way, could you please give some advice on how to properly configure Traffic Lights?

Here the issues data are dependent on the Traffic light plugin. So in order to have the successful import you also need to have the dependent plugins in the new instance.

If you don't want the traffic lights, then you need to delete the values before the import

To configure the plugin -

  1. Log into your new Jira instance as an admin.
  2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Find new apps or Find new add-ons screen loads.
  3. Locate Traffic-Lights for Jira. Install it
  4. Give the valid license and you are all set. (reindex may require)

Importing complete projects

Import of complete projects (i.e their configuration, issue data and attachments) is subject to the restrictions described in this page, especially:

  • Jira versions of the source and target instances must be identical.
  • If the source instance had any custom field plugins installed when the backup file was created, and the custom field was used in any of the exported projects, then the target instance of Jira must have the same version of the plugins installed
  • Your instance of Jira will be locked out during the actual data import (not during the validations), so please ensure that your instance does not need to be accessible during this time.
  • The timezone of the source instance must be the same as that of the target instance. Otherwise, the import would be affected by JRA-26039 and imported dates would not be correct.
