Freshdesk integration in Jira

Hello,

I'm using the Freshdesk an JIRA and the integration is working. But what I cant seem to get working is how to have a Assignee in JIRA that I can select from Freshdesk, for now that spot in the ticket is Unassigned. 

I need to be able to select a specific person and not a 
default assignee. What I need is for my support staff to select a developer ( I have 5 developers ) in freshdesk and that the ticket will be send to Jira with that person the assignee. For my support staff knows what developer best to assign to what ticket, and this should be reflected in Jira too.

So what I need is to be able to select one of my 5 developers in freshdesk to be assigned to the ticket, and the selected developer should then be automaticaly assigned in Jira to that ticket.

Is that possible?

I like this idea.  Instead of picking an assignee when linking an item to JIRA, it just takes the assignee from FreshDesk.
