In the older interface when you filtered by epic it filtered on only that epic. If I clicked on another epic the first one would be de-selected, and the new epic would be shown.
This allowed for easy review and prioritization of tasks on an epic by epic basis.
With the new interface I can't find any way to do this. Epics are hidden by default, and when shown if I select one epic, then another epic, issues from both epics are shown instead of the last epic that I selected.
This makes it much harder to review tasks and users are prone to forget that they have more than one epic selected, causing them to create new issues in the wrong epic, and then they are lost in the shuffle of the hundreds of open issues.
How can I force the interface back to the old behavior?
Hello @paul.denorch
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
There is not a method available to force the UI to revert.
There is a change request, to which you can add your vote/comments, asking for the functionality that automatically deselects one Epic in the Epic panel when you click on another.
I like the way it works now.. but would suggest that selected epics (and same for Versions pane) would be moved to the top of the list (and always shown)... and perhaps add a [Unselect all] button.

Here here! Agree with this 💯 The old way was better.

@paul.denorch I totally agree with you. The old interface was much better for doing a one-by-one review of your epics. The new approach makes no sense. Even if it did make sense I would really like a way to click on one epic and only see the backlog for that epic. This specific piece of functionality stopped me from switching over to the new interface. But then everybody was forced to move. Argh. I wish they wouldn't take away functionality people use every day.
