How do I find a list of archived issues in an existing Jira board?

I am a new Scrum Master to the board, and am trying to find a list of archived tasks and stories already in the board.

I have tried JQL but no results appeared.

Hello @Sharmatha Devarajan

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are you working with Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center? If your Jira URL is like the following then you are using Jira Cloud.

https://<something>.atlassian.net

When you say "archived" are you talking about the Jira feature specifically to Archive data, or are you talking about issues that no longer appear on the Scrum board/backlog simply because they have been completed?

Note that a board is just a way to view and manipulate issues. The issues actually exist in Projects. Boards display issues based on a filter query. A board may display issues from multiple Projects. You can use the filter query that the board uses to get a list of issues past and present that are relevant to the board. A board administrator can find that query by going to the Board Settings for the board.

Hi @Sharmatha Devarajan , assuming that you are using Data center then the following article may be helpful. You will note that you cannot use JQL to search for a archived a issues.

how-to-report-on-archived-issues-in-jira-data-center

also useful

archiving-an-issue

NOTE: If you happen to be on Jira cloud then archiving an issue is not supported. Unless this has been added since I last looked.

Finally, if you don't literally mean "archiving" then please explain further.

Hi @Sharmatha Devarajan There is no easy way to get the archived issues in the project or from the board if you are not an Jira administrator and you need to access the each issue directly using the issue key to see if that issue is archived or not because archived issues are not searchable through JQL and to hide the issue from JQL search and Board user need to archived the issue more details are in below document

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/archiving-an-issue-968669980.html

You can ask your Jira administrator to provide the archived issues list, check Browsing archived issues section from the above document, but still if you able to find the archived issues through direct issue key access or from Browsing archived issues section you will not able to find which board that issue belongs to because when issue is archived agile details are also hide from the UI and you need restore the issues to view which board it belongs to.

Check the below screenshot for more details.
