Fail to assign project category

Ethan Dai August 15, 2018

I am creating project using template "Scrum". Throughout the whole creation process, I am not able to see any setting for me to set the project category. I am also no able to edit the project to set project category. Why?

I discovered only when I choose template "Scrum(Classic)", I am able to set the project category.

Hi, Ethan.

I had this tested on my end and I was able to configure the project category after I created a new project using the Scrum template under Project Settings. For example:

Can you please create a new project and verify that the same behavior is observed? Also, did you ensure that there were project categories created already?

Looking forward to hear from you again soon.

Hello, Ethan.

You are welcome. I am also using the Cloud solution when I presented the screen shot to you. Since you are not able to see similar options like what I am seeing on mine:

I suspect that you are using Agility project template instead of Scrum. Can you please further confirm if it is essential for you to use the Project Category field? If yes, I would recommend you to switch to Scrum since that field is not present under the Agility template.
