I wanted to allow external users to comment on issues from a specific project. However, when I check External Users, all our internal users are listed as External Users. How do I switch that around?
Hello @Darquise Leblanc
Is your question about allowing "external users" to comment on issues, or about changing users from being considered External users to being Internal users?
For information on how Atlassian designates a user as External or Internal, review this document:
https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/who-are-external-users/
The latter - I need to change our users from being considered External users to being Internal users.
Consequently, I have asked our IT folks to add Jira to our DNS. Will that help to recognize our internal users as internal?

No, I don't believe setting up DNS will change anything.
Did you review the document link I provided? That explains how Atlassian Cloud determines if a user is internal or external; based on the domain specified in their login and whether or not that domain has been verified and/or claimed by the Organization. For the users to be considered internal you have to Verify and Claim the domain(s) used in their logins in your Atlassian Cloud Organization.

Thank you. Yes, I did check the link and interpreted it as I need to verify our domain via DNS/zone file aka "Verified". Is that not the case? Appreciate your help :)

Here is the document link about verifying domains and claiming accounts in that domain:
