Error redirecting users to authorization url

Jason Archer June 13, 2022

I'm trying to redirect users to the Jira authorization URL to grant access. Using the sample URL below as stated in the documentation I get an error.

Authorization URL (I've replaced placeholder values with real values)
https://auth.atlassian.com/authorize? audience=api.atlassian.com& client_id=YOUR_CLIENT_ID& scope=REQUESTED_SCOPE_ONE%20REQUESTED_SCOPE_TWO& redirect_uri=https://YOUR_APP_CALLBACK_URL& state=YOUR_USER_BOUND_VALUE& response_type=code& prompt=consent

Your URL is not formatted properly and when you click on it or paste it on your browser it becomes a malfunctioned URL. Make sure that there's no newline on the URL string which might be causing the problem.

Thanks @Prince Nyeche . It was the formatting for the redirect url.

@Jason Archer what value did you use for the state=YOUR_USER_BOUND_VALUE field?
I'm lost in this configuration, if you can shed some light I'd appreciate it

Thanks

@Stefan de Oliveira I'm late with this response but I'm using an encrypted userId value.
