We imported a project with multiple Epics and linked issues from a Jira Software Server instance to a Jira Software cloud instance. All Epics, Epic links, Epic Name, issues linked to those Epics imported well. But depsite this not every Epics are shown in the Epic panel and the ones shown have not the right number of issues linked.

For example in this pictures the Epic "ADVENIR" must have at least 3 issues completed but have instead 0 issues completed.

Another weird things is that most of those Epics are resolved but still displayed in the Epic Panel. Any of our unresolved Epics which were displayed in our Jira server instance are not displayed in the Epic panel of our Jira cloud instance (but have been imported, we are sure because we find them with a JQL query).

We were wondering where this problems came from ?

Hi @Céline CAILLY

I noted two questions in your post: count differences and done epics appearing in backlog.

Epic count differences for included items

The issues appearing are determined by the backlog contents and the filter order.  To understand what is happening...

  • Identify some example issues you believe should be included.  For example, the completed issues.
  • Use your board filter on Issues and Filters to see what is returned.
  • Compare the results to see what is different.  That may reveal an issue with the filter or the resolution of the issues.

Done epics appearing in backlog

This may be a difference between server and cloud.  You can read about using epics in this documentation, and the answer to your question is to:

  1. Navigate to the backlog
  2. Open the epics panel
  3. Select the epic to complete, and...
  4. Select the drop-down to Mark as Done

Best regards,

Bill
