Hello all,
the issue discussed here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Is-there-a-limit-on-the-number-of-epics-that-can-be-created-in/qaq-p/740409 is still a problem.
At the moment we have 7 EPICs on the board that need to be tracked and filtered by the EPIC-Name-List Filter. However it only shows 6 instead of 7.
Is there any ETA on a solution for this matter ?
Best regards and wish you all a merry x-mas.
Hi @Felix Hanf
There is no Epic limit on a project.
Loads of Epic might cause readability issues on a project, but no more.
If you have 7 Epics and your Filter only shows only 6, there is an issue with your filter.
Can you show screenshots and filter configuration?
Hi Marc,
I am talking about the standard Epic Name List Filter
that is part of every software project board template.
We are using different customized filters that work just fine. Unfortunately the results of them cannot be a drop down menu like the above mentioned Epic Filter.

Hi @Felix Hanf
Od you also use a backlog, if so, the Epic filter on the board will only show epics that have issues on the board.
If you have more Epics, but not of its child issues are in a status that is used on the board, the Epic will not be visible in the Epic filter on the board.
Example 6 Epic's in the project and on backlog, but only 3 on the board with the same default filter option
Backlog
