How to link epics and components? i.e when i select a particular epic only the components related to that epic must show up in the dropdown of task creation

Hi @Tax Genie 

"Components" are added against the whole project and are made available for picking against any issue type (where the "component" field is included as a field on associated create/edit screen). 

I'm not aware of any capability to have different components showing under different Epics.

I guess the nearest solution to something like this would be using a "cascading select" custom field.  Where you'd have top level items mapped against your "Epics" and second-level selection list based on your required "components" (for each Epic).   However, these would need to be manually added and kept in sync (by jira-admin).
