Hi, I wanted to set up a touchscreen so my team can approach a board and move tiles around to "Done" on their own. However, I did a quick test on my laptop's touch screen, and it turns out when using Jira on a web browser like Chrome, the touch screen functionality of dragging a tile does not work. Click and drag with a mouse just fine. Click on the screen with your finger, does not work.
I have found a handful of tickets that ask about the same thing. Not sure if Atlassian is working on a fix or not.
This ticket describes what actually happens the best: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20716
This one has supporting pictures: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-22130
This one is a similar cry for help: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-2793
There are apps for phones on Jira. I know they can make it work! Not sure what the issue might be.
Thanks,
Corey
To be clear on "click with your finger, does not work"
The touch screen itself works fine. I can click around and do things.
But I cannot MOVE a tile with my finger. I would imagine you would press and hold (long press) and then the tile would "come free" and be able to move. But it just turns a shade of dark gray at first, then a second later, a shade of light gray. Then nothing happens. Whereas with a mouse if you click, the other columns you can drag and drop to turn blue.
