Hi Guys,

JIRA Core 7.11.0 is now available.
Is it advisable to do this upgrade/ I am slightly confused by the 2 terms software and core and why one has a new version and the other doesn't. I can do all the required steps in the CLI but I need the correct URL and have not found it easy to find.
Thanks
Luke
Hello,
You need to download Jira Software version. You can download it from her:
^ that.
All Jira server instance of 7 have Jira Core. It's the base. But Jira Software provides Agile features like boards, and addition agile reports. Most sites tend to have Jira Software (which is technically a plugin for Jira).
In most cases, you can't upgrade Jira Software without upgrading Jira Core first. I'd recommend checking out the guide in Upgrading Jira for more information on how to do this.

Thanks for explaining that Andrew. Do you know if there is a web page with all the versions of Jira Core on it. I have found one for older versions but not for ones after v7.2?

The link Alexey posted can be used here. You just need to click the All Server versions link on that page to get this link: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/update
In this case, the installation package has both an updated Core and Software version. When updating this way, you can safely update both Core and Software at the same time.
You could alternatively use the Jira Core installation packages found on https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/core/update
However, if you're planning to update Software as well, the first link will help save you a step later on.
