Don't show issue type in backlog

I've made a new issue type, a level higher than an epic. This issue type shows up in the backlog of the board when adding a board specific component to it. However epics are not shown there and have their dedicated panel.

Is there a way to make this new issue type not visible in the backlog?

Hello @Lissa Verhoeven

Yes, this is possible. You need to configure your board, Edit filter query.
In the query you should add the following:

and type != "YOUTYPENAME"

Kindly make sure to keep ORDER BY Rank ASC at the end of the query before saving.

@Seifallah Bellassoued 's answer would keep that issue type from showing on the entire board, not just the backlog. Is that what you want?
