Does LDAP Integration support STARTTLS?

We need this for our LDAP integration and the documentation is very unclear if it is supported or not (and if it is how to turn it on)

Unfortunately STARTTLS isn't currently supported, although a direct SSL connection is. There is an open enhancement request (CWD-2768) to add support.
