Hi,
We run Jira on-premise with a MS SQL Server 2019 back-end.
The Jira team requests us to only run MS SQL Full backup while Jira is stopped.
I can't find anything in the KB around the reason behind this request.
Is there a reason why Jira needs to be stopped?
Hi @Dio Lim ,
Welcome to the community !!
If its a daily backup process ,then not required. Else if you are doing it before any maintenance, then you should stop jira and take the backup. So that present data will not be missed.
If you do not stop jira before backup, there are chances that the updates to jira during backup process is not captured in the backup file.
In addition to that, doing a full backup while Jira is running might result in a bad Jira performance.
