We're interested in using Git for version control. So the question is does the Jira Studio FishEye plugin support other repository types than Subversion and can it support external repositories (for example accessible by http and/or ssh)?

Apparently FishEye plugin in our own instance would support this, so should we forget Studio and host our own?

As of 6th September 2011 the answer is no, Jira Studio does not support git repositories.

My original question was about "external" repositories, by which I meant what Alexander referred to, standalone git repositories (more or less meaning our company's own git-repository). Apparently there is no support even in planning for these currently. So the only way to use Jira+FishEye with your own git-repositories is by hosting Jira everything yourself.

Too bad.

GitHub support is great, but what about standalone Git repositories? Not everyone wants to host his sources on GitHub (or Bitbucket).

Studio currently only supports hosted subversion repositories. As I am on the FishEye team, I am unable to comment on whether there are plans to expand this functionality to git/external repositories.
