Does Epic ID/Story ID change if you move between Projects

I am trying to move Epic and Stories to a new/different Project in JIRA. 

Does the actual Epic ID/Story ID change when I move Projects? It is an autom-generated field that gets crated after you create an epic or story.

Yes - the issue ID is always <project>-<sequence>. 

The project key has to change, because you've moved from one project to another. 

The sequence almost always changes, as Jira will use the next free number in the project (same as "create new issue" does).  The exception would be if you move one that is numbered just right at the time you move it - for example, ABC-123 into project DEF, when the last issue in DEF was DEF-122.
