Does Atlassian offer active support for cloud migration?

Koninklijk Vezet April 12, 2019

Dear community,

I'm working on a migration towards the cloud. Currently we are hosted at a development partner with an on premmis installation. How ever we only have one project there that needs to be migrated to the cloud. And we have limited access in our environment. For example i'm a project lead at best.

Also important to notice is that other customers of our partner are in the same jira instance with their own project (seperation by project access).

Does Atlassian offer cloud migration support for these type of situations?

Hello Koninklijk,

Atlassian support will always be available to assist you if you run into any issue or have any questions along the way during or before the migration, make sure to file a support request at https://support.atlassian.com if you need additional assistance.  Where the line exists in the level of assistance is at professional services being that support cannot perform the installation or migration on your behalf only provide guidance on the processes and troubleshoot and help correct any errors that you run into during the migration. This is covered in the support offering in more detail here:

As covered in the support offering If you're looking for full migration assistance we recommend reaching out to an Expert Partner Company that specializes in migrations.

However we do have migration guides available in the documentation, and for migrating a single project from a Server instance to the Cloud platform this cannot be done directly as covered in "https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-31806" and requires an intermediary Server install to manipulate the data.

The Single Project Cloud to Server Migration Guide can be found here:

Earl

Hi Koninklijk,

Currently, Jira Cloud does not have the option to import a single project from another instance and also it's not possible to create a backup on Jira Server with only one project.
In this case, it's necessary to create a full backup of your server instance and then import on Jira Cloud (if there is data on Cloud, the import will wipe all the information). After the import, you can delete the other projects that are not necessary for the Cloud instance.

We have feature requests suggesting the implementation of single project export and import:
- https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-31806
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the features.

If you have any other question about migration, please let us know.

Regards,
Angélica
