Hi there, We installed Confluence but haven't used it up till now - but did set up a number of users (who haven't created any content)... These users are active JIRA users though.

Now we have a requirement for a new user set to actually use Confluence, and have found that when we disable a Confluence user it disables their JIRA account.

Is it possible to disable a confluence user so we can re-use the license for a genuine user, but not disable the JIRA account for that user?

No, a user is either active or not.

But, take a look at the groups that the two applications use to say "this person can log in".  Remove the users from the Confluence groups.
