Previously when a user in Jira Software was mentioned on a comment on an issue, they would receive an email notification that they were mentioned in that issue. This email would contain the exact comment and a link to "View Issue" in the body of the email.
This email seems to have changed. Now when a user is mentioned on an issue, they still receive the email, but the contents of the email body are different. The email no longer displays the full comment. It includes two links to "View Comment" and "Add Comment".
The way this functions now makes it much harder to see if a mention needs to be actioned or now from a glance at the email. It feels like it's too easy now to miss important information via email.
Was this a change in a recent update? And is there any level of configurability/setting for this in Jira Software?
Hi @Jordan Paquin -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
My hypothesis is that change was to prepare for this in-progress suggestion, bundling notifications to send them on a cadence:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-1369
@Axel Stenson and Jordan -- You may want to comment on that one, or contact the support team, to learn options and make them aware of the impact.
Kind regards,
Bill
This has essentially doubled the time I (and everyone else on my team) takes to review emails each day. Does anyone know of a way to turn this off?
