Hi @Abdul Mubarak and welcome to the Community!

There's a lot of free training material available for Jira, a good starting point being Atlassian University Training for Jira.

However, when we provide documentation or training for customers, we try to combine basic stuff from Jira with the specific setup and practices you elaborated for your company or teams.

To refer to your question, creating a task / story / incident is very similar:

  • For story / task click on the big create button on Jira's menu bar, select a project and then story / task as the desired issue type and then fill out the field on the presented screen and click Create.
  • For an incident, it is very much the same - apart from the fact that you probably will start from a JSM portal with request types rather than through the create button.

Most of the important stuff around that is determined by your company terminology and business rules. I would expect you may have defined certain custom fields to be able to organise / categorise your work. It will be way more important and valuable if you explain what people should fill out and why in your documentation.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Abdul Mubarak ,

If I interpreted your question correctly, are you asking for resources that can be used to gain more knowledge about creating Jira issues to include in your handbook?

If so, please check these links:
