We are using Discovery project board and list view.  For each project we have linked the appropriate tickets for delivery status.

Delivery status is set to 'Simple' and 'Issue Count'

The Delivery status seems to inconsistent with what it displays.  In some cases, the status is getting set to 'DONE' when all the linked items are set to 'done' while in other cases it is not setting to 'DONE' even though the count shows 0 for open and 0 for in progress.

Any help on what we should be looking at to get this right?

Hi @Ravi sheshappa

That’s a bit unusual, but here are some steps I would take if I were in your position:

1. Jira uses status categories such as 'To Do', 'In Progress', and 'Done' to determine the overall status of issues. The Delivery Status field relies on these categories to assess the status of linked issues. If a status used for completion isn't categorized as 'Done', it won’t be recognized in the Delivery Status. Please check the status categories of the linked issues to ensure they are correctly mapped.

2. Even if an issue has a 'Done' status, if the Resolution field is not set, Jira might not consider the issue resolved. Make sure the Resolution field is filled in for all issues marked as 'Done'.

3. Navigate to the Delivery section or field where the linked issues are displayed. Look for any hidden issues or issues that you might not have permission to view, as these could affect the Delivery Status.

4. Additionally, check the link types used between the Discovery project and the linked delivery tickets. Ensure that the link types are appropriate and recognized for delivery tracking (e.g., implements, is implemented by, etc.).

These are the first things that come to mind, and I hope you find them helpful.
