Data import question

Hi,

We are working on merging multiple instances of JIRA into a single large instance. As part of this, we were able to import the projects from the source instance into the target instance using the Project import tool.

As part of import, users were created automatically by the import tool.

Could you please let me know whether the login credentials for automatically created users will be the same as before? I mean to say whether the users can login with the same set of user name and password to access JIRA?

We've done the same thing some time ago but since we are using external user managment passwords were no concern to me.
The doc's don't state anything on passwords either.

This should nevertheless be quite easy to confirm. Import a project with a user you know the password of being either project lead, component lead, reporter or assignee on an issue and test the login.
