Custom web item with Run code does not work?

When using the "Run Code..." option I would expect to see a way to enter the code to be run and a reference to a flag or dialog. Neither are given, the link field remains. Is this an error in the ScriptRunner add-on? Is there a workaround?

I can see how that label could be misleading.

This is not an error.

Perhaps better labels would be 

• Navigate to Link
• Call REST api and display a Dialog 
• Call REST api and show a flag 
• Do nothing.

In either case, you have to write a custom REST enpoint that will return either a Dialog HTML or a flag json object.
