Custom fields when exporting to CSV

Richard Joudoin January 13, 2022

Hi Folks,

We use JIRA for Access Requests.

When creating a request, the end user has to specify who the request is for, where they need access, and why.

We want to be able to export these requests into an CSV that displays the info mentioned above. In order to do this, we have created a filter for access requests but when exporting to CSV, it does not provide ALL of the info we need. Sometimes the who, what and where is established in the comments after submission, or "description".

Even when creating a new filter and selecting custom fields to be included, we still dont get the info we want when exporting to CSV. When using the "all fields" option it gives too much that is annoying to sort though. When using the "current fields" option, the info is minimal.

What changes or customizations do have to make in order to have exported CSV docs to show the exact info I want, out the submitted requests?

Hi @Richard Joudoin

Welcome to the community 🙂

When you are choosing the current fields option you need to choose the custom fields in the result of filter to first displayed in advanced filter section

Once the result is displayed then export the issues to CSV using current fields option, you will get the data for the custom fields you have chosen

Thanks,

Pramodh
