Is there a way to make a custom dropdown/multi-select filter like the default ones (Version, Epic, Label Type)?
For example, we use Status a lot, and we need to easily select one or more statuses. Or Story points, or a few other existing fields. It seems basic but I haven't been able to figure it out, and it's not practical to create a custom filter for each status or each use case (e.g., when we want to see how many items we haven't started, when we want to see how many items may need to move, when we want to see how many items etc etc etc). It would be so helpful to be able to do this with one filter.
Thank you.
Hi @Sabina Alistar -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You are correct: there is no way to add additional fields to the view to work like the built-in ones.
Have you tried using the Issues list view (from the left side of the page) with the Basic option, as that would be similar to what you asked? That would be easier than creating many saved custom filters.
Kind regards,
Bill
Thank you Bill, this works much closer to what I had in mind. I can save different filters if I want more fields e.g., Story points.

I want to be able to look at the Backlog and use a filter to select one or multiple options for the same field.
For example, for Status, I want to be able to select statuses "Done" and "Ready to test", see how many issues. Then select just "To do", see how many issues. Then look at "In progress" and "Almost done", etc without having to make separate custom filters for each of these options. It would function in the same way as for example the pre-defined "Type" filter where I can select either just Story, or Story and Bug, or Bug and Task etc without having to have a separate filter for each.

Hi @Sabina Alistar , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
Please can you explain what you're trying to achieve? Do you want to create a dashboard for issues from a team-managed project?
You should be able to write and save a JQL filter and then use those in a dashboard.
Is this what you mean?
Best wishes
