Creating link on parent story

Hi all

I have created an automation rule, when a subtasks created under story with specific text. It will trigger an automation rule which will create another story on different project.

Now ask is to link parent story with new story...could you please advise...

Hi @Mohit Jain

Welcome to the community.

Can you please share your current automation. This will help me and others on the community to understand your current rule and provide you with a solution, based upon your automation.

You will need to have to have an link action in the branch you probably have in your rule to create the new issue.

But this is my general assumption.

Hi @Mohit Jain -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Adding to Marc's answer:

Because the issues are in different projects, this rule will need to be global (or multi-project) in scope to link the issues.

Your Jira site admin will need to help with that because the rule is not in one project.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Mohit Jain

To change the scope of the rule, look at the rule details.

Go to global administration for automation in the Jira system menu

Find the right rule and change the scope.

@Marc Koppelaar checking with my admin team...this option is grey out for me...
