Creating issue link automation, only works when an issue from one project is linked not the other.

I created an automation so when an issue from Project A (this project is in Jira Service Desk) is linked to an issue on Project B, it should update a field on the issue in Project A. The problem I am experiencing is when the issue is linked, it only updates the field when you link the issue from Project B. I want it to update if the issue is linked from project A. Does anyone know why it is doing this?

Thanks!

Hello @Nicholas Mason

Welcome to the community.

If your rule is addressing issues in multiple project then it must be constructed as a Global/multi-project rule. Those can be created only by Jira Administrators from the Jira Settings > System > Global Rules page.

For such rules on the Rule Details page you must indicate all the projects for the issues that will be involved in the rule.
