We put a time estimate on all our issues for one team and story points for another team. I'm trying to create a report showing how many hours / story points worth of issues has been resolved per week per team member to get an idea of the productivity per team member.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to create a report like this?

One of these teams works with a kanban board, inclusing a software project board that shows all issues accross all their projects.

The other team uses scrum, but they also have a software project board showing all issues in all their projects giving an overview of the entire sprint.

Hello @Pieter Koelewijn

As an alternative, If you're thinking about installing third-party add-ons, check out Time in Status

The Assignee Report provides a detailed breakdown of time spent on issues by each team member, allowing you to monitor productivity and identify any bottlenecks.

With the Pivot table view, you can create any custom report, group tasks, and see how much time they spent in the status while they were assigned to a specific Assignee.

For Scrum teams, there's also a Sprint Report feature. The Workload section allows you to check whether the work is proportionally distributed in the team.

The Workload selection allows you to check whether the work is proportionally distributed in the team.

You can also book a live session to ask any questions about the add-on. Add-on developed by my team.

I hope you find this helpful 🚀

Hello @Pieter Koelewijn ,

Welcome to the community!

I think what you are trying to see is the resolution time of a resolved issue and how much time each assignee spent on each issue and combine them on a weekly basis to measure team productivity.

In order to measure metrics like Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time I would recommend using a third-party app, as there is no built-in solution in JIRA for this.

My recommendation is Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira app, the oldest and leading Time in Status app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is built by my team at OBSS. It is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.

Timepiece mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status and on each assignee/group/team

Timepiece offers Assignee Duration per Status report  which shows how much time each assignee spent on each Status. You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.

For this report you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.

Visit Timepiece (formerly Time in Status) to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process.

If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.

Hope it helps,

Gizem

Hi @Pieter Koelewijn

Welcome to the community !!

As an alternative, to track resource / sprint velocity as a dashboard gadget, I can recommend our app. The app comes with couple of gadgets to track team member's velocity in a sprint and also a complete sprint status overview. Do give it a try

You can easily create that custom report with the Better Excel Exporter!

This sample report looks quite similar to what you have described:

(Discl. this app is developed by our team. It is paid, but free for 10 users!)
