Create a standalone calendar entry

Is there a way to create a calendar entry without a corresponding issue, either in JIRA or Confluence for a specific project? I'd like to add calendar entries for meetings without creating an issue for it.

Not really - Jira is for issues, Confluence for writing pages, and the calendars hang off those. I'm not sure what you imagine you could do differently.
