Confluence link in Jira Service Desk - set to "localhost"

Charles Focant September 10, 2019

Hello,

We have latest Jira Server and Confluence hosted on our Windows 2016 server with Sqlserver 2017.

When an agent wants to go to the Confluence Knowledge base, the link leads him to a "Site unavailable" page with address "http://localhost:8090/display/SI" - obviously it won't work as Confluence is not installed on his computer.

In the agent interface/portal, a mouse over the "Knowledge base" link shows:

http://sqlservercrm:8080/projects/NTIC/queues/custom/1#

and when clicked opens a windows with "Create an article" and "Go to Confluence". Uri for these links are:

http://localhost:8090/display/SI?createDialog=true

http://localhost:8090/display/SI

I looked for a way to change this URI In Jira. In the Project settings, when I mouseover the link to "Link to Confluence Space", it also says localhost:8090 instead of the hostname of the Confluence server.

After reading the article https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/configuring-the-server-base-url-148592.html?_ga=2.155471346.832741732.1568016407-1139654694.1564472080 I edited the server.xml and replaced the two occurences of "localhost" by the server hostname and restarted the Confluence Service and yet the link to confluence is localhost:8090.

Do I also need to restart Jira Service Desk? Why can't I change the uri?

Thank you.
