Hi,

We are working in Scrum mode and our PO has asked us to explore a dashboard which will give a view based on priority (sample below). Just to add more detail, we want this to have a view for our complete backlog and just not the current/active sprint. Is it possible to configure such a thing and create a dashboard to cater the need.

Thanks,
Prateek

A good option for display swimlanes by priorities is to use the Team Wallboard gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app. But as Jack said, swimlanes are different than columns. See this example.

So a number of comments here:

  • what you show in the snapshot does not convey priorities or swimlanes
  • In Jira boards, verticals are "columns" and horizontals are "swimlanes". Columns are associated w/ Statuses. Swimlanes allow you to bracket your issues into containers that make sense to you and your team, be it priorities, Epics, teams, components, etc.
  • You can certainly create swimlanes (horizontal) based upon priority just set up the JQL for each (Highest, High, Med....).
  • If you want your entire backlog in the board then you aren't talking Scrum but rather tradition Kanban would be the way to go. Later, once the far left column becomes overwhelming you can then move to carve out the backlog if desired.
