Compare time spent with original estimate

Joana Rocha June 7, 2023

We're trying to use a jql where we compare timespent > originalestimate. This compares the field Original Estimate with the time logged through tempo.

The goal being that we set a trigger to rethink the issue when it is taking us more time than we initially planned for it.

I get the error The value 'originalestimate' for field 'timespent' is invalid. Please specify a positive duration format; for example: '1h 30m', '2d'.

Has someone used something similar before?

Update: I've solved it by using the work ratio :)

Which board are you using this with?

Hi Iris,

I use this for an automation, where we receive a message when the ratio is at a certain percentage (eg. 90%).

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I can try and help.

Hi Joana,

How did you do that automation? I"ll try to add something like that.

Hi Annamaria,

I used the fields and values directly from jira.

Here's a screenshot, hope it helps. Let me know if I can answer any question Screenshot 2024-04-15 at 13.13.11.png
