New to JIRA.  A task was set up, assigned to IT who solved it and marked it as Done.  I cannot find anyway to mark this as resolved.  I thought I have seen other mark things for re-testing so i could confirm that the item has been tested and then resolve.  I did manage to re-open it....don't want that.  At base just want it resolved.  would like to set it to re-test, confirm that it has been tested and then close / resolve.

Hi @susan parisey

an issue is resolved, if any resolution is set (no matter e.g. whether you set "fixed" or "won't fix" as soon as there is a resolution, the issue is resolved for Jira).

So, if you design your workflows, take care that you set a resolution if you close an issue and remove the resolution if you reopen the issue. You can do this in a workflow function in the closing or reopening transitions.

If you want to let your user decide, which resolution is the right one, show them a transition view with the resolution field.
