Goal:
When deliver a project to a customer we have to complete the same tasks each time. I'm looking to automate the creation of these tasks so that we can better keep track of of our progress.
There's 100s of tasks across several teams.
Current solutions / problems:
I originally created a automation workflow to create each task but the upkeep for this was huge when we had to make small changes and it meant only admins update teams task.
I then created a master project with an epic and all the child tasks, this allowed me to create an automation task to clone it every time we kicked off a new project. This works pretty great as it allows teams to upkeep their task list for future projects without getting admins involved. The only problem I have this solution though is when we clone the epic and child tasks we lose the Linked Issue relationships. So when teams are blocked by certain tasks being completed this relationahip is lost. It logically totally makes sense why this would be lost but I'm not sure how else to approach it where we keep the flexibility of users being able to upkeep the "master tasklist" themselves but also being able to create blocked by dependency relationship.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Hi Camo,
You might take a look at a third party app like Deep Clone.
