Hi there, having a new issue that's only just cropped up.
We have a template story with subtasks that we clone to ensure we follow the procedures laid out for each project.
However, today, when we went to clone an issue, the 'clone child issues' tickbox did not display. Upon cloning the story, the child issues did not appear.
We refreshed the page, to no effect, and logged out then back in again. Nada.
I have a personal Jira board I use for freelancing, and that still has the 'clone child issues' tickbox.
Any thoughts on how we can fix this?
Hi James - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Is this a Team-managed or Company-managed project? Was it working on this same project before? Or just the same Jira site and a different project?
Thank you :)
Team managed, on the free version. It worked on this project up until today for the last 16 months on this project, this is a brand new issue that's just only cropped.
It still works on a different personal board of mine that I use personally.
I just created a second test project, and it also doesn't have the cloning child issues option.
Could this be related to the new navigation shift?
I created a new project on my personal board, and it does have the clone child issues, so I'm really confused as to why it's not working on my work board...

Can you check an existing Company-managed project to see if it is available on that one?

I run my board separate to the company one, as they work on an older/more basic version of Jira (Data Centre). So mine is only available to 4 of my team members. It's a completely separate entity.

Understood, but I am trying to see if this is a problem with Team-managed projects only, or if is also not working with Company-managed projects.

So the Jira Data Centre version the company runs does not have a clone child issues option.
But that hasn't been a problem for 16 months - unless it's a recent change, but I still don't get how it would affect my separate work one yet not my personal one which I'm accessing on the same computer.

There is something different about them - that's what I am trying to determine. I didn't ask about Data Center - I asked about trying it with a Company-managed project in the same instance as the Team-managed project.

Ah, no sorry, I don't know the difference. If you're asking if I have access to a company-managed project on that board URL, I don't - the only project on the is my team-managed one.
If you're referring to something other than that, I'm not aware. I have a bit above entry level understanding of Jira, but don't know all the terminology : (
Having just looked it up online, I'm in a team-managed project with no access to a company-managed project, though. Sorry if I'm being dense, and appreciate your patience with me : )

No worries. Can you create a Company-managed software project on that same instance and try it there?

Created a company-managed project, and had the same issue - no 'clone child issues' tickbox
At this time, I've found a work-a-round of using Deep Clone, which is filling the gap, but takes longer than the regular clone...
