We've found that when we move an issue from one project to another, the issue status on the new project side is defaulting to "done". This happens regardless of the status that the issue is in the original project we'd like to have it setup so that status when moving an issue does not change unless there are workflow incompatibilities. Does anyone have recommendations on this?
What type of project are you moving the issue from and to; Company Managed or Team Managed?
How are you executing the Move?
When moving an issue using the Move Issue functionality from one Company Managed project to another, if the Status in the source project does not have a matching status in the destination project then you should be getting a prompt to select the new status to use in the destination project.
If there is a matching status in the destination project, then the issue should retain that status with no prompting.
If you are moving issue from a Team Managed project to a Company Managed project, you should always get prompted to map status values.
