Hi everyone, I was locked out of my previous Jira (it became a managed account and my organization wouldn't allow me to log in, I've given up) and it's now deactivated. I made a new one, but I'd like my previous domain name back. Is there any way to do this? When I try to input my previous name, it says the name is already taken? I'm having a hard time trying to contact Support, so hoping someone here can please help - thank you!

Hi @Emma Bingham

If the previous domain was claimed by someone, and if you're not part of that organisation or domain anymore, unfortunately there isn't anything you can do there.

If you're still part of that domain or organisation, I'd recommend finding out who the Org Admin is an asking them to reinstall access, since that is the only way ahead.

Please Do let us know which scenario applies here.

Also, is there some critical information you want from your previous ID or information, that piece of info might help justify your reason to regain access too.

Unfortunately, once a Jira domain name has been taken and tied to an account or organization, it cannot be reused even if the account is deactivated. Atlassian does not release previously used domain names for re-registration to avoid conflicts and ensure data integrity
