Capacity Planning for multiple teams across multiple projects

Levi Clarke January 8, 2024

I have 5 dev teams working out of 5 Jira projects. I have upgraded to premium in order to get the Advanced Roadmaps features. I'd like to be able to perform capacity planning across each team but I can't seem to see all the different teams capacities on a single plan. What is the best way to set things up to accomplish this?

Have you figured this out?  You have to create a team, and add it into the plans Team section and it should show the Sprints across the timeline and the capacity.

Hello @Levi Clarke ~ I don't use Premium so I can't say for sure, but in Data Center we do this by creating a filter for all info you want to include as the issue sources for the Plan and then ensure that the Shared Teams use the same board as the Associated Issue Source.  Alternatively, if the Scrum boards are set up by Team then you can use the boards as the issue sources and associate the teams per board.

Then View Settings and group by Team with the Show capacity on timeline checkbox selected. This will show each teams Sprints and team level capacity on your plan.

You can find more info here.  HTH
