Cannot update workflow while is active

Hi,

I have 5 projects that share the same workflow scheme.

I want to edit this active workflow scheme, what is the best way to do it (besides assigning all projects to another workflow, updating it, and then assigning all them back)?

I want to change the Workflow Scheme, hence, assign new issue types I've added to already exist workflow!
I don't want to make any changes to the workflow themselves.
