Cannot edit gadgets for shared dashboards I own

Teri Simonds July 17, 2020

Hi all,

We recently upgraded to Jira Server v8.5.5 and I can no longer edit gadgets for shared dashboards that I own.  Previously, I'd click the ... link and it would me the the ability to edit, allowing me to change the filter.  Now the only action available is Minimize.  Note that all actions (Minimize, change color, Delete, and Edit) are available on my system dashboard gadgets.  The shared dashboard is "Shared with anyone on the web (VIEW)".

Shared dashboard gadget below.

Thanks for your help!

Look at the Dashboard in the search screen to see if the permissions to edit are still in place (query and dashboard). If you do not have edit permission you will not see the Edit on the gadget menu.

Have the JIra System Admin check the shared filters and dashboard settings.

I can edit the dashboard, but cannot edit the gadgets.  The Edit option for the dashboard allows me to change the name of the Dashboard, the viewers and editors.  We upgraded from a very old version of Jira; perhaps something went amiss during the upgrade and I should recreate said dashboard?

That might need to be done.

That's what I needed to do.  Copy worked; I had to update the permissions because the original ones didn't work.

Thanks for your help.
