Can you use the Version Report Gadget when a project only has a Kanban board

Does the Version Report Gadget require a project to have a Scrum board or can it be used if a project only has a Kanban board? Asking because I don't see boards listed in the drop down if their associated project only has a kanban board.

Version report applies only to scrum boards.

Add a scrum board to your project, and <boom> you get version report feature.

You don't even have to use the scrum board :P
